Hello Godwin Families,

I hope that you have had a good week!  Here is the school-wide calendar for next week.  

  • During the week of June 6th-10th, there were 5 positive Covid-19 cases reported to Godwin.

  • Thank you to the Godwin PTSO Hospitality Committee for providing donuts for our faculty and staff this past week!  We are so grateful for the Godwin PTSO!
  • Final Exam Schedule:  Here is the final exam schedule for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders for this week.  School will be closed on Thursday, June 16th for Godwin’s graduation ceremony.
    • Monday 6/13 1st and 3rd periods
    • Tuesday 6/13 2nd and 4th periods
    • Wednesday 6/15 5th and 7th periods
    • ACE Center students will be directed by their centers.
    • Bell Schedule:
      • 1st Exam:  9:00-10:50
      • Break:  10:50-11:10
      • 2nd Exam:  11:10-1:00 (Buses will depart after the 2nd exam)  
  • Medication Pick-up:  Any medication in the clinic must be picked up by a parent by 2:00PM  Wednesday, 6/15/22. Parents of students with daily prescription medication, as needed prescription medication, and/or emergency prescription medication in the clinic, should expect your student to bring home a letter from the clinic soon.  Any medication that has not been picked up by the deadline will be discarded.
  • Volunteering at Godwin-Summer 2022:  Godwin students who are interested in volunteering this summer at Godwin, please fill out this form and we will contact you to schedule these opportunities.  Students can earn community service hours towards their community service seals on their diplomas by volunteering.
  • Project Graduation:  Students who did not pass an SOL/W!SE test needed for graduation, but will pass the course, are eligible to participate in Project Graduation during the Summer.  Project Graduation is a free program where rising 10th – 12th grade students attend 3 days of remediation for 3 hours each day for an SOL they need to take to try and earn their verified credit for graduation.  The remediation sessions usually run from 9-12 each day, M-W, with testing on Thursday at 9am.  If you have a student who needs to make up a verified credit for a course they have passed, please visit the Henrico County Summer Academy website at https://henricoschools.us/summer-academy/ and scroll down to the last item in the list “2022 Summer SOL & WorkKeys Testing” for more information on summer testing, and Project Graduation specifically, including dates, locations,  & the registration link.  Registration must be submitted by June 17, 2022.
  • Juniors:  Juniors please make sure to fill out the cap and gown form.  This provides us the information we need to order caps and gowns for you for senior convocation in the fall.   Cap and Gown Form
  • Godwin Basketball Camp:  The Godwin basketball teams will host a camp for children aged 9-16 from June 20-23, 8:00am-1:00pm.  Sign up at this link:  https://sites.google.com/henrico.k12.va.us/bbcamp2018/home
  • The Godwin Athletic Association is in need of energetic and dedicated individuals to help make up the 2022-2023 Godwin Athletic Association Board.  We have many positions open.  If you are interested in volunteering and would like more information please contact Allison Unowitz at president@godwinathletics.org.
