I hope that you are all doing well and that you are staying cool! There is still time left for summer, but school starts on August 19th, so we are excitedly preparing for our Godwin eagles!
I am Mrs. Leigh Dunavant, and I am proud and honored to begin my 9th year as the principal and my 15th year on the administrative team at Mills E. Godwin High School.
I am grateful to lead with a fantastic administrative team:

This is the weekly newsletter for Godwin called the Eagle Express. Each week, we will send out the Eagle Express with information about the upcoming week and acknowledge the great things happening at Godwin High School.
We invite all 9th graders to Eagle Academy (freshmen orientation) on Thursday, August 15th from 1-4 p.m. for a fun afternoon to get to know our school and learn their class schedules. We will host a 9th grade parent meeting at 3 p.m. in the auditorium.
We invite NEW 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students and their families to come to Godwin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14th for some time to get oriented to our school. We will have an informational meeting for students and their families, and students can walk through their schedules.
All students will be able to access their class and bus schedules through PowerSchool beginning on Monday, August 12th by 9:30 a.m. We will not be hosting orientation activities for current 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students before school starts.
We will distribute laptops to students during the first week of school.
Please look for information soon from Mr. Nadeau about fall sports tryouts.
We will host a virtual community meeting on Thursday, August 8th from 7-8 p.m. During this meeting, we will share back-to-school information and answer questions. Look for more information soon!
